The text area uses Markdown formatting, Markdown is a simple syntax to mark-up text in your pages. It is enabled on any field that displays the Markdown link. We have listed the most common syntax here, along with some examples.
There is a Markdown reference at http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/basics however please note there are several flavours of Markdown, and some references may include extensions not currently available in Perch.
Go to “Events” under “My Site” on the left-hand side menu.
Select the event you would like to add an image to by selecting the underlined title.
To add headings of different sizes, highlight the text and select the heading size using the “H” dropdown.
This will change the text by adding a hash next to the text, the number of hashes will correlate to the heading number. E.g., 4 hashes is “Heading 4”.
To make the text bold, highlight the text and select the “B” button.
Once selected it will put 2 asterisks at the start and end of the highlighted text.
To change the text to italic, highlight the text and select the “I” button.
Once selected it will put an underline at the start and the end of the highlighted text.
To set something as a quote, highlight the quote and select the quotation button.
This will put an arrow before the text.
Next option is bullet points, if you are to put a “-“ before a row of text this will make it a bullet point. You can also highlight the text and press the bullet point button to have this put in for you.
